The seminar was attended by 45 participants of which 35 came from the Land Development Department including Mr. Ard Somrang, the former LDD Director General, 6 from Kasetsart University, 1 from Chulalongkorn University and 3 from the private sector. In total there were 9 presentations which included 3 presentations from ITC staff as follows:   Shrestha, D. P. and A. Farshad. Land degradation assessment: advances and constrains with special emphasis for applications in Thailand Farshad, A, D. P. Shrestha, R. Moonchun and A. Suchinai. An attempt to apply digital terrain modelling to soil mapping with special attention to sloping areas: advances and limitations. Farshad, A., S. Udomsri, R. D. Yadav, D. P. Shrestha and S. Sukchan. Understanding geopedologic setting – a clue for a better management of salt affected soils.   It was agreed to bring the results of the seminar as a proceedings or a report.
