Development of Soil Databases and Land Information System
|
 |
Introduction
|
|
| Land
Development Department (LDD) had developed application programs in response
to the need of LDD 's regional offices to build and share GIS
applications among less skilled end users
and institutes concern. |
| LDD
has integrated the IT solution to support management and decision
- making in soil and land databases.
LDD builds and operates GIS database and implement GIS
applications. Standard application softwares
includes soils, land use / land cover, permanent forest that greatly enhance
the value of investment in base maps and other data. |
| The
IT solution in LDD was initially developed in 1996 until present. Feedback
from users both in government and private sectors bring LDD
to the solution in improving its products. Originally,
the project was developed in collaboration with Chiang
Mai University mostly under ArcView environment.
All the functions of the complex application in the programs were brought
into ArcView with an easy to use interface. They are: |
