Soil Information System
In Technology Era,it was caused agriculture to run away . People in Agriculture sector were trod. In a near future our planet close to "Globalization". Competitions in every sectors are clearly high.
Land Development Department has a main function to study, investigation, research of soil and land for conducting soil suitability information map for economical plant. It is an intergrated technology of geographic information system and soil information system. So that this map can help farmers for plant selection, agriculture planning and agriculture marketing competion in future.
Objectives
- To conduct soil suitability map for economical plant
- To conduct simplified land information mapping
- To develop Geographic Information System [GIS]
- To transfer soil information for multiple purpose use
Development of digital soil suitability map for economical plant
Soil information was inputed by Digitization which connect data in map formation and text file in term of mapping unit. Another information namely road, water way, political boundary are introduced to system and it can display and retrive.
Retrieval Data
User may do not have much skill , only they must know which data they need and what for. The step is following
- When Digital Soil Information was runs. It showed many command menus. User selected only specific location such as location of Province, Amphoe and Tambon and or mapsheet number namely 5124 IV.
- Selection plant in the list which suitable with soil.
- Selection command munu which show soil suitability with economical plant and created new map.
Data service
Soil Suitability maps are contributed in digital information and hard copies by Land Development Department.
