Land Development Act, B.E. 2526
 
A law on Land Development was enacted by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, by and with the advice and consent of the National Assembly in 1983.
 
          1. The Act is called " Land Development Act, B.E. 2526 "
          2. This Act have come into forced as from March 1984.
          3. Director General of Land Development Department is one of the members and its secretary of " Board of Land Development "
          4. Land Development Department's duties are land survey, soil analysis to determine its qualities and suitability classification and development for special purposes.
          5. Whoever shall be against act without permission, will be sentenced to a certain term of imprisonment or a fine of certain amount of money. The reason from the enactment of this act is that it is deemed appropriate to transfer the power on the development of land under the Land Code with respect to the parts concerned with the survey, classification and preparation of land suitability classification for agriculture, land use planning and soil conservation to the " Board of Land Development " and Land Development Department. Any misused of land i.e. sea water inland shrimp farming will be justified by Land Development Department. (LDD, 1984)
